December Sunday Assembly - Sunday Dec 20th
by Nick Carpenter - Monday, 14 December 2015, 7:48 AM

Join us for our Winter Solstice celebration at Swallow Hill Music (91 E Yale Ave) on December 20th, 12 PM - 1 PM! December's topic is presented by our own Assemblers Troy and Stephanie Latta. They'll be exploring the 'Reason for the Season' (Hint -> axial tilt) and how other cultures celebrate the end of the longest night of the year.

Plus, don't forget to bring your socks! This year marks our 2nd annual participation in the "Sock-it-to-'Em" Campaign. The campaign aims to cover the feet of as many of those in need as possible before each new year. Socks are the #1 clothing need of the homeless, because they wear out faster than any other articles of clothing, and are rarely donated. Last year we brought in 143 pairs of stocks - let's break the record! Go to http://sockittoemsockcampaign.org/ to find out more about this great cause.

We will also celebrate this month with songs to sing along (or listen) to with live music from Pale Blue, and other fun bits. Sunday Assembly is a non-religious congregation who's mission is to help everyone find and fulfill their full potential in this one life we have. Our motto is live better, help often, and wonder more.

Join us afterwards for coffee and baked goods, and feel free to bring your own baked goods to share!

Parking: The parking lot is diagonal to the venue, on the south side of Yale Avenue. Access through the alley. Parking overflow is available on Yale Avenue or on Broadway, unless restricted. Please respect our neighbors and try not to park on the residential streets.
